Lines of Site - 2007
Lines of Site was Pippin’s first major exhibition in Western Australia. The exhibition filled the not insubstantial John Curtin Gallery. Curator Chris Malcolm and his team designed and created three different spaces to address different aspects of Pip’s work. The show was at once a retrospective and a look at Pip’s current work. Pieces from the very beginning of Pip’s career, borrowed from a multiplicity of collectors, rubbed shoulders with more contemporary works.
“The survey exhibition of her works at the John Curtin Gallery in 2007 will provide the kind of focus and acknowledgement that so few Australian artists are accorded. Despite being internationally recognised as a major figure in her filed for a quarter of a century, there is a dearth of published material documenting her extraordinary acheivements, and though her work is held in major collections across the world and she is constantly in demand for exhibitions in Australia and overseas, few in her own country know her work or understand her contribution.” Ted Snell from ‘Lines Of Site’
